Fictional Tokyo Olympic Games Logo

Student work is fun! You get a lot of freedom to explore as many possibilities, without client’s input and personal preferences. It’s not the reality of the Graphic Design business… but it lends to some really nice work at times (especially for talented individuals with good concepts and execution).

Andreas Leonidou created a very modern  and dynamic logo for the 2016 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Using origami as an inspiration, he created an icon that doubles as Japanese lettering and a running athlete. I also love his tshirt designs. It’s a good contrast between the angularity of the logo and the organic shapes that dominate the shirt. This design is probably a bit too modern for the Olympics… but that’s the fun of student work.
